4: Well wait a moment Mr. Henley, you, or rather I am just a little too fast. I want to prove a thing-or two before I get to that. Mr. Henley what office do you hold, if any, in Jackson County, Missouri?
I am deputy circuit clerk of Jackson County Missouri.

5: You are the deputy here at Independence are you not?
Yes sir I am the deputy in charge of the office here at Independence.

6: And as such are you in charge of any of the records of the clerks office?
Yes sir I have charge of the office at Independence. I have charge of this office here.

7: You have charge of the office here at Independence?
Yes sir.

8: How long have you been in charge of the office here at Independence, Mr. Henley?
I have been in charge of the office here at Independence since 1887.

9: Well now look at the paper which I had you, and if you can do so you may state to the reporter what it is?
It is the transcript of the proceedings of the case of Samuel H. Woodson, plaintiff, against Robert G. Smart, admonistrator of the estate of John Maxwell, deceased and others.

10: Does it state the others?
Yes sir.

11: Well read the names of all the parties?
John Maxwell, deceased, Robert G. Smart, as administrator of the estate of John Maxwell deceased, Matilda Maxwell, William A. Maxwell, Theodore H. Maxwell, Ambrose A. Maxwell, Ann Mary Maxwell, John A. Maxwell, and Robert H. Maxwell.
